About This Package

The Pashupatinath, Lumbini and Muktinath Tour is considered one of the most revered pilgrimage journeys in Nepal, both to Hindus and Buddhists. The itinerary includes sacred sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Lumbini, Muktinath Temple, and sightseeing in Kathmandu and Pokhara. You will also be witnessing different terrains of Nepal, from flat Terai region where Lumbini is situated to stunning Annapurna Mountain range near Muktinath Temple. Muktinath, located at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the base of the Thorong La Pass in Mustang, Nepal, is known as "Mukti Kshetra", meaning “Place of Liberation.” This tour is ideal for both spiritual seekers and cultural enthusiasts, with private and group options available.

A Taleju Adventure representative will pick you up from the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu and drop you off at our Taleju Boutique Hotel or equivalent 3-star rated hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 1

Early in the morning, you will heading to pray at Pashupatinath Temple. It is located in the bank of the Bagmati River and is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, known here as Pashupati – the Lord of Animals. A UNESCO World Heritage Site where non-hindus are not permitted inside the temple, but can view it from across the river. Key highlights include: 

  • Pagoda-style temple with golden roof and silver-carved doors. 
  • Numerous smaller shrines and ashrams in the area. 
  • Cremation ghats on the Bagmati River, offering a poignant glimpse into Hindu rites. The temple draws thousands of pilgrims, especially during the Maha Shivaratri festival. 

On second half of the day, you will be heading to Patan Durbar Square. Situated in Lalitpur district, it is a historic palace complex showcasing exquisite Newar architecture. Known for its intricately carved temples, courtyards, and statues, it reflects the artistic brilliance of the Malla era. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it remains a vibrant center of culture, history, and traditional craftsmanship. You can also visit its famous Krishna Temple. Later you will be heading to Bagalamukhi Temple for the evening prayer. It is a revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Bagalamukhi, known for her power to defeat evil and grant victory. Devotees pray for strength and protection.

Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will be visiting Boudhanath Stupa. It is one of the largest and holiest Buddhist stupas in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it features a massive mandala and the all-seeing eyes of Buddha. Surrounded by prayer wheels and monasteries, it is a center of peace, devotion, and cultural harmony. Following this, you will be heading to Kathmandu domestic airport and fly off to Bhairahawa airport. Your vehicle will pick you up and drive you to Lumbini. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will be heading to the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the most sacred sites for Buddhists worldwide. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it houses the Maya Devi Temple, ancient ruins, and monastic zones built by different nations. Lumbini symbolizes peace, spiritual awakening, and religious harmony, attracting pilgrims and visitors seeking enlightenment and inner tranquility. Later in the day, you will also be visiting Tilaurakot where Lord Buddha spent early royal life as Prince Siddhartha. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 4

After breakfast, your transport will drop you at Bhairahawa airport and you will be flying off to Pokhara. Check in hotel at Lakeside and rest of the day is for you to explore the area.

Day 5

Early morning flight to Jomsom (2,700m, 25 mins). From there, drive by jeep to Ranipauwa (3,710m), then walk for 40 minutes to Muktinath Temple (3,800m). It is a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and pilgrims seek salvation and spiritual liberation.

  • Take a ritual bath at the 108 water spouts (Muktidhara) and Mukti Kunda
  • Visit Jwala Mai Temple, known for its eternal flame.

After worship and exploration, overnight in Jomsom.

Day 6

Morning flight to Pokhara. After check-in, begin a half-day tour:

  • Bindhyabasini Temple – Worship of the wish-fulfilling goddess
  • Seti River Gorge, Devi’s Fall, and Gupteshwor Cave (Shiva Temple)
  • Barahi Temple in Phewa Lake (boat ride included)


Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 7

You will be taking domestic flight to Kathmandu. Upon check in at Kathmandu hotel, the rest of the day is for you to explore and do souvenir shopping.

Day 8

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
