About This Package

Located in the lush plains of the Terai region in southern Nepal, Chitwan National Park is one of the country’s top destinations for jungle adventures. Renowned for its rich biodiversity, the park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to encounter rare and endangered species such as the one-horned rhinoceros and the royal Bengal tiger.

Established in 1973, Chitwan is Nepal’s oldest national park, spanning approximately 1,000 square kilometers of sub-tropical lowland jungle. In 1984, it earned the prestigious status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of its ecological importance.

Chitwan is home to an impressive variety of wildlife:

  • 56 species of mammals, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, and wild boars
  • 543 species of birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers
  • 126 species of fish
  • 590 species of butterflies
  • 47 species of reptiles, including marsh crocodiles and monitor lizards

A visit to Chitwan offers a refreshing contrast to Nepal’s mountainous landscapes. It immerses you in a completely different natural and cultural environment—where traditional Tharu villages blend with dense jungles, and safari activities like elephant-back rides, jeep safaris, canoeing, and jungle walks bring you up close to nature in its rawest form.

Whether you're an adventure seeker, nature lover, or cultural explorer, Chitwan National Park promises a memorable and enriching experience.
